CHARLOTTE, N.C., Oct. 08, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — DP World has grown its ocean freight forwarding volumes in the Americas 12-fold over the past two years, driven by strong growth in intra-Americas trade and continued expansion of the company’s freight forwarding network and integrated logistics capabilities.

Momentum has accelerated in 2026, with DP World’s Americas ocean freight volumes doubling since the beginning of the year. Intra-Americas trade has emerged as the company’s second-largest ocean freight trade lane in the region, reflecting growing demand for connectivity between markets across North, Central, and South America. DP World is also seeing continued growth along major global corridors connecting the region with Asia, Africa, and Europe.

The growth reflects DP World’s broader strategy to provide customers with greater access to capacity, international markets, and end-to-end supply chain solutions by connecting freight forwarding with company’s global network of ports and terminals, warehousing, and inland transportation.

Joseph Fordney, Senior Vice President of Freight Forwarding, DP World in the Americas, said: “The growth of our ocean freight business reflects what customers are increasingly looking for: greater choice, flexibility, and reliable access to markets. Intra-Americas trade has become an important part of that growth, and we see significant opportunity to build on that momentum by connecting customers to DP World’s broader network and providing more integrated solutions across their supply chains.”

Expanding Connectivity Across Key Trade Lanes

DP World’s ocean freight growth extends beyond regional trade, with strong volumes across several key global corridors. Asia-to-North America remains an important part of the company’s ocean freight business, while export volumes from Brazil to markets across Africa and Europe are also contributing to growth.

As volumes increase, DP World is continuing to strengthen the connection between its ocean freight forwarding network and its physical infrastructure across the Americas. This includes integrating freight forwarding with port and terminal operations, port-side warehousing, inland transportation, and other logistics services to help customers move cargo more efficiently from origin to destination.

By combining global freight forwarding capabilities with owned infrastructure and local logistics expertise, DP World aims to give customers greater visibility and control over their supply chains while reducing the complexity associated with managing multiple logistics providers.
